Get ready for bball again.

Hello girls!
No open gym tomorrow (Sun.) not sure why it isn't available.  That just means Monday will be your first day back.
I hope you have been doing some activity on your own so that this week getting back into the swing of things won't be such a transition!  We have a lot to get done.
We are now in the second half of the season, it's time to start clickin', no excuses, no exceptions.  Work hard, play hard, have fun, remember it's a journey and this team can set an example and be a great story!!  Just choose to be EXTRAordinary!  We believe in you, we know what you are capable and we believe it's way beyond even what you believe you can do.  That means dream bigger than you are, expect more from yourselves.  Small goals means small victories...and that is wonderful but it's better when you are capable of big goals and big victories (and not just win loss records).
Watch an inspirational movie Sunday night and get pumped up to get the second half of the season started off with a bang!!

Is that what we like to call a mushroom top?! :) Oh Santa aka Lacey thanks for letting us have fun in your house!

Reindeer Game!

Christmas Party Fun!

Seriously....you girls are so dang fun! I laughed to tears again after Kelly sent me all the pictures!
For those of you not at the party the girls were in 5 groups of 4ish and played the Reindeer game.  They had to read instructions and blow balloons up, stuff them in panty hose for antlers put a racquetball on for a nose.  Another person had a santa hat and beard and had to ride the reindeer to a plate that had a carrot and eat the carrot with no hands.  ONE OF THE  FUNNIEST THINGS I HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME!  I am still trying to figure out how to get pictures up but you will see them one way or another.

Open Gym

If you can do open gym...which I think Pete said is in NH then try and go and shoot around and play a little pick up.

Christmas is coming!

Happy Christmas Break!
Thanks for making the party so fun last night. We thought it was so great to get to hang out with you instead of being in front of you yelling and pushing all the time! I keep laughing about the reindeer game! Kelly will hopefully get her pictures to me so I can post them on here! Have a great break and I will see you Monday the 29th. Please try and get some running in over break and pick up a ball and toss it around. You all came so far and we want to keep that momentum rolling without having to back track too far. Being inshape will help that alot!

Thank you.

Oh The Winterwonderland!

Girls...as for tomorrow I have not heard about it being canceled. Please keep an hear open for the news, plan on JV being at the school at 7:45 ready to leave at 7:50 and varsity be at the school at 1:25 ready to leave at 1:30.

IF it is canceled again, then without question you need to be doing some cardio and find a ball to toss around and dribble. You all have come a long way so we want to stay on top of things and not have to back pedal for too long or at all.

Hope you are enjoying your break!

The 12 Days of Christmas!

Happy week before Christmas! It is 9 days before Christmas...is your shopping done?! For some of us, maybe we should just get started.

Last week was quite the week, a shortened week of basketball time due to the weather led us to two games on the weekend. Friday and Sat. Although they were losses they we got a chance to see our press against us and we ran it for the first time against GR and the girls did really well. We hadn't even practiced it. Good job! This week is Wapsie and Jesup along with JV playing AP and S. Hardin....oh so many games!

Cheer loud!

Dec. 8th is a big week!

This week we have three Fr/Jv games and 3 varsity games!  It will be a showing of perseverance and hard work!  Hope to see you all there!

First Win!

What a great way to end the week.  9th grade, JV won both their games and Varsity won their game!  Coach Iehl and Coach Mohlis were soooo excited about how well everyone did and were grinning ear to ear.

After a shaky first half the varsity came back big and bad in the second half, to play like they are capable of, and beat NU to turn the corner towards confidence and lots of season potentials!
I was so proud to see them push themselves and each other towards that victory.  They dug down deep and chose to play aggressive and with confidence.

Such progress!

The coaches are so proud of what the girls are doing so far! From game 1 to game 2 they came leaps and bounds in a very short time.

Also, we feel very blessed to get to work such an awesome group of girls who work so hard for us, who are respectful and we have such fun with. I know I can be hard on them one minute and the next minute Danae is falling over Cassie in a take down fight for the ball in one of our drills and we all laugh!!

Thanks for raising great girls parents!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and break for the normal routine! We are looking forward to getting in a regular swing with basketball. Varsity has Conrad Tues and NU on Fri. and Fresh/JV have NU on Sat.!
