Hall of Pride Game
Nov. 20th DNH bball is participating in the Hall of Pride Game. This game is an opportunity to do a good deed. :) It is opportunity to play a game with refs and uniforms etc but it does not count for your record! JV/V girls will play Dunkerton starting at 4 tentatively and boys play Janesville after. Girls are thinking about making it a Retro night so that means you have to wear an outfit to represent your past, you pick and get creative maybe we will have a drawing for a massage or something for the winner!! When you come I think the consensus was that we are asking you to bring a toy for a child we will give to Allen Hospital.
Heels To Hoops
Oh my oh moms! As Susan Parker asks me with such anticipation, "Will there be another Heels to Hoops?" I gleefully say "for sure"! So moms after the Pack Tournament get your sneakers ready for another Heels To Hoops Challenge. If you ask me I kind of think the moms won last year. Just sayin!! H.S. moms are the target, but certainly any mom is welcome. Try beating Julie Cuvelier's Dodgeball look last year...priceless.
10 Days
It's a crazy whirlwind of districts for falls sports right now. BUT, if you aren't in a fall sport or its done it is time to start getting in some bball shape.
I would recommend some straight up pick up basketball, running hills or intervals, plyos and lifting. Do stuff for the fast twitch muscles which is the stuff I mentioned above.
Yee haw! I hope you are all ready, because we are ready to go and we are so excited for what the H.S. girls are going to bring this year. Fun, fast bball. :)

Pack Skills Camp
Nov. 20th 8-10am the 3rd-6th grade girls are invited to the Pack Skills Camp. Entry is $10 and that includes a free T! But wait...if you haven't got your entry in by Thurs. the 28th you will not be able to get a T. Sorry.
They will learn fundamentals, participate in teamwork drills, AND learn the 1st two layers of the offense the high school girls will be running! Building the feeder program is essential and I am excited for what the future holds.

John Wooden's Pyramid of Success
My first season at DNH, which was two years ago, I knew we needed some guidance and confidence building in the minds of the players more than just their skills. One of the ways I tried to do that was give a block to build John Wooden's Pyramid of Success each game. Below is the link to that Pyramid.

This is a neat video that is about 18 min. long but, John Wooden talks about success. Please check it out. It's easy to forget that success is more than just winning the game. You can outscore your appointment and walk off the floor or field unsatisfied. It's always good to regain some perspective on things and this link is a good way to do that.
