6 on 6 Moms vs. the Minis(daughters)

So...one eve not so long ago....I'm blundering my way through assisting at my first track meet since I was in 8th grade.  When what to my wonderin ears did I hear...but some talk of 6 on 6 bball moms vs. the girls.
Girls...remember 6 on 6 is the old school way of playing bball.

So, just so you know many moms are involved now.  They were talking smack about smoking your girls and showing you how it is done!  Moms get your workout shoes on and get some movin in because 6 on 6 is happening, oh yes indeed!  :)   It will be so much fun.

ALSO, we are going to try and have a fun field day in NH outside this summer.  We will have kickball, bball, ultimate frisbee, flag foot ball, races, etc. and hopefully a picnic.  I think it will be a blast so keep your eyes open for a good date and let me know.

Spring Sports!

Girls, I just want to say that it has been fun watching your other sports.  Good job, way to work hard, and hopefully you are enjoying the ride!  You have been good about letting me know your sports schedules for games so I(Kristin and Abby too, but they are coaching right now also) can come watch.  Please let me know when you have home games or games in CF too so I can watch, because I know the schedules are changing a lot.  That goes for the younger girls too.  Mark Parker has been such a saint in letting me know things, but I would love for you younger girls to let me know if you have games coming up!   amyv100@yahoo.com is my email.

Abby and I went to see your Prom entrance thing a ma gig, and you all looked really just beautiful.  How fun, to step out of sassy cars lookin all jazzed up and getting your photos taken and then getting announced after you enter the building!!  Very fun.  Abby and I stood on this cement wall thing to get a better look cuz we couldn't see well enough and we got in trouble like we were 5...what  a small price to pay though!  :)   You people are fun!!

CHI TOWN TRIP

I have the info. for the hotel we will stay at for those of you going to the Chicago trip.  But I have to hunt it down, I will post it shortly.  I think we need 5 rooms as of now and I reserved 10 incase parents want any.  We got a really good deal $60 a night (taxes must not be included) and it has an outdoor pool.  It the LaQuinta in or near Des Plaines.
Here is a very rough plan.
We would love to borrow 3 mini vans.  The 15 passenger van thing fell through and we can't seem to find another one, which is very weird...I've seen them everywhere it seems since our plan fell through.  Please let me know if you have ideas.
Thurs. the 16th we will leave, get to our hotel, swim, have team time. Just hang out with the team and parents etc.
Fri. morning get up bright and early and get to our games.  Each team will play 3 games.  JV may play 2 and varsity 3 depending on schedules.
Friday afternoon take the train into the city, shop, picnic, tour, Fri. night   White Sox? baseball game
Sat. morn. wake up bright and early play games.  We can got back into the city Saturday if we are going to spend the night.  We wanted to give an option for those who want to stay Sat. night and wake up to go to church at Willow Creek church, an absolutely HUGE church in the west suburbs.  For those that don't want to go to church we will have another plan.
If we leave Sat we will get back very late.  If we go to church on Sunday then we will leave right after church to get back home.

April 19th Update

To everyone...sorry about any confusion with the Kohawks camp cancellation.  There was a conflict with track that led to the camp being cancelled due to there being such a shortage of numbers.  We would love to try and reschedule it, I will keep you posted.

For those of you who wrote checks for Hoopalooza and the Kohawks camp void them out and we are shredding them.

Pack Camp is still first week in June.  8-10:30am is the older girls and 10:45-12:45 is younger.

Older girls will have summer league Tues. mornings at 8am, and younger girls will have it on Thursdays.  We will also have open gym times on Sundays if we can get a gym time.

Older girls as athletes, not just bball players you are expected to be in the weight room lifting.  The lifting includes the olympic lifts like cleans and snatches.  If you don't know how to lift correctly let me know I would LOVEEEEE to help you.  We will do some of that at camp anyway.  Also, if you want to get more advanced and have your workout be changing etc. let me know and I can adapt it to you.  If you aren't seeing any real change from lifting etc. let me help you out because you should see a big difference.  You should feel good about what you are doing.

Also, all bball players, anytime you want individual work or small group work or even to open the gym to scrimmage let me know.  That goes for all ages!  This coaching staff is eager to help and play!  We are gym rats...we can't help it!!  :)

Camps

Girls remember April 19th Randi Peterson will be in Dike to do a camp for you.  Get your sheets turned in so we know numbers. You can put them in my school mailbox please.

1st Week in June is Pack Camp, yee hawww!

Also I think your spring sports are off to a good start, we are excited to watch you rock...so please let us know when you have home games/meets or even when you are in CF/WLoo area.

Hoopalooza...not so much.

Of course...our bff Mother Nature decided to play her usual trick on a bball competition day and dump a bunch of snow and not just snow but added some sleet to make it real slick like. Awesome!  (notice lots of sarcasm)  :)

However, we ended up scrimmaging and some younger girls were there too show us how it's done.  I thought it was so fun!

Thanks to all who had a hand in getting this organized.  If every team would have come that said they were officially it would have been about $850 unofficially.  And we were adding teams all the time.  So we will try again sometime.
